Real Wedding: Four Little Ones

By , November 22, 2010 7:02 pm

To say I have been looking forward to receiving pictures from Molly’s wedding is an understatement. I have been chomping at the bit waiting for these images!

Molly is the stylish owner of the Tampa Bella Bridesmaid, so I’d been working with her for a few months before she contacted us for product for her wedding. Imagine my delight when she told me she wanted three wands and a pillow – I had cuteness overload imagining the precious little ones walking down the aisle.

Sure enough, once Molly passed along her photos to me, I was in love instantly. Her photos are like fine art, captured by the talented Parker J Pfister. And, to add even more to my delight was the tremendous number of photos captured of the little ones!

Isn’t Molly absolutely stunning? Gorgeous! Congrats and thank you so much for sharing these, and for Parker J Pfister for sharing his beautiful talent.

Behind the Scenes: I’ve Got a Crush on You

Our new product line, the Glitzy Girls, is launching next week! In preparation, we have our last behind the scenes dedicated post. Our fourth, and final, child model was quite the charmer. Quick to jump in the scene with the big girls, he hammed it up for the camera and quickly won the hearts of Erin, Alisha, Andrea and Heather.

That wraps up our behind the scenes look at our Glitzy Girls shoot at the Landmark in New Braunfels, Texas. Thank you to our photographer Matthew Niemann, whose photos will be revealed soon! Many thanks to Layne Mayo for styling hair and makeup and to our incredible models.

Summer 2009 Pillow Line

By , June 4, 2009 8:00 am

We’ve been talking about summer lines for a while now. The designs have come together and we are so pleased that I just had to give you a teaser. These new designs are 8″ square pillows, a bit smaller than the others, and are a bit “funkier” for today’s modern bride.

Earlier in the year there was much demand for chocolate and tiffany blue themed pillows. We’ve taken this concept and introduced a fun, modern design with a polka-dot backside. Other designs (not pictured) will be a blend of Maihar Design’s signature ribbon-adorned ring pillow and our forthcoming flower wands.

We’ve got your attention now, don’t we?

Below are two of the new designs coming out later this summer.
Pillows and wands…all coming shortly!

The color of happiness: Zoe’s custom ring pillow

By , March 20, 2009 1:01 am

Whenever I design anything, be it a room or ring pillow, I always try to incorporate colors, fabrics and products that I love.  I am a firm believer that one should always surround themselves with the things that make them smile…even when it doesn’t  make perfect sense or follow all of the rules.

Designing should be no different.  And, nine times out of ten it actually works! Of course there are exceptions, but on the whole, I find the end results to be unexpected and full of richness and character.

My tried and true rule of thumb was recently put to the test, as I designed a custom ring pillow for a friend’s wedding. When I asked for the color palette, I completely expected to be told a single specific shade of pink.  No no.  Zoe, too, feels strongly about making selections based on love and happiness.

And as I found out…Zoe loves color.

Midnight blue, turquoise, citrus green and pink were my answer.

“Which shade of pink?” I asked.

“All of them,” she replied.

Oh good…we not only managed to expand our color options when I had expected to narrow them, but, I was having a hard time envisioning a 10”square pillow that could calmly combine all of these colors in an aisle worthy manner.

Four hours and many color combinations later, her pillows were designed.  I am ashamed to say that I doubted.  Zoe seems to know exactly what she is doing and I have to say that I am slightly obsessed with her color choices.

I hope I did them justice.
