Maihar Inspiration Board: Emmy Romantic

By , September 1, 2010 8:30 am

The older I get, the more and more traditional I become in my fashion sense. Sure I worked in the music industry for 6 years and at one point in my life had 8 piercings. My hair has ranged from bright red, to bleached blonde and dark brown. Yet, I must be aging like a fine wine because while I find eccentric style fun, my heart absolutely flutters when I see gorgeous gowns and wedding styling (did I just admit that aloud?).

In my opinion, these ladies look stunning – and I would love to wear either of those dresses as a bridal gown (note to self for when I renew my vows). Form-fitting with gorgeous up-dos and beautiful earrings – if I could label my kind of wedding, this is it!

Inspired by these gowns, I’ve created this soft romantic board as the complementary wedding inspiration to the breathtaking 2010 Emmy fashion. Enjoy!

Maihar Inspiration Board: The Patriot

By , July 1, 2010 8:30 am

I love the Fourth of July. And although my family doesn’t have a big cookout, or go to fireworks exhibitions anymore, I absolutely love the celebration of this amazing country.

In honor of that great day in 1776, when incredibly brave and intelligent men stood up for their belief in value of freedom, I’ve created a little wedding inspiration board called “The Patriot.”

My heart swells with gratefulness every time I see a soldier, airman or sailor in uniform — a common occurrence living in San Antonio (aka Military City USA). As we remember and celebrate our independence this holiday, I’m hopeful this board brings together the beauty of red, white and blue with the elegance of a wedding.

Happy Fourth of July, and may God bless our brave men and women in uniform as they fight to defend our freedom every day.

Sonoma County: Wedding Inspiration Board #2

We enjoyed the Sonoma theme so much that we decided to offer an alternative approach to the Sonoma wedding theme. Our second inspiration board is Cobalt Blue, Orange and Yellow – a color palette that can be inspirational any time of the year.

Sonoma County: Wedding Inspiration, Board #1

The first, and most obvious thought, of a Sonoma-inspired wedding is having the ceremony and/or reception at a vineyard. Beyond the location, there are many ways to bring capture the essence of Sonoma and to bring this fantastic location to your wedding – whether it’s in Alaska or Florida.

Our first Sonoma-inspired inspiration board brings together the calm, cool colors of nature. Combining the outdoor vineyard green with a teal and turquoise palette infuses a casual elegance into your wedding. Since Sonoma has a rustic, rural feel, we’ve also selected decor which highlights this setting.

Wedding accessories and fashion are captured in the first image. The juxtaposition of chic modern accessories with the beauty of outdoor photos quickly captures Sonoma’s outdoor charm.

Shades of greens and blues complement one another for the reception decor. From the use of grosgrain ribbon in the photo collage foliage to the simple flora surrounding the vases – these elements might seem understated in a large ballroom, but are perfect for the casual, elegant atmosphere of Sonoma.

Maihar Inspiration Board: Cheerful Canary

By , October 5, 2009 8:00 am

Yellows continue to be extremely popular this wedding season. Everywhere I look, there are combinations of colors with shades of yellow. The Amy Ring Bearer Pillow takes a different approach, though, with monochrome black and white, dazzled with a splash of Canary.

For ladies who are spunky but not quite a “pink” lady, this inspiration board is perfect for you. We’ve combined the elegance of black and white, with punches of yellow to create excitement and a feminine flair sans pink. Yellow is quickly becoming my new favorite color!
